"Equity in action" means taking specific, practical steps to address imbalances and ensure fairness for all, especially those who have been historically disadvantaged. It's about recognizing that people have different needs and providing the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, rather than simply treating everyone the same. Equity goes beyond equality, which assumes everyone starts from the same place. The Equity in Action Scholarship is our organizations commitment to supporting students who may face unique barriers and challenges due to systemic inequalities. To apply for the scholarship, students must write a minimum 500 word essay or submit a creative project (art, multi-media, video, slide show).
